okay so these idiots live together and tbh its a miracle they haven't burned the whole place down yet. they probably either knew each other from high school or met when they were going to college in seoul. either way they're all out of college now and they decided to live together in busan while they get on their feet(and stop relying on their parents.) FC's, jobs and personalities are really pretty open, i just kinda threw them in there as suggestions tbh.

Min Jinah and Cho Hyun Bin's romance was often likened to one you'd find in a modern fairy tale(or at least a fan fiction). Neither of the two young artists believed in love at first sight until they met each other at one of Hyun Bin's concerts. After flirting with one of the staff members enough, Jinah was able to make her way backstage and meet the guy she'd idolized for years face to face(and, hopefully, for longer than a normal hi-touch would allow.) Not only did she get to meet him, but they exchanged numbers at the end of the night and she was promised that they'd see each other again soon. And see each other again they did.

Their relationship itself was rushed, and honestly a little messy. They kissed on their first date, confessed their love to each other on the second, and showed just how much they loved each other on the third. They'd only been dating for a few months when Jin Ah found out that she was pregnant. That's when their relationship started going downhill. Hyun Bin wasn't nearly as excited about the pregnancy as Jinah was, nor was he sure if keeping it was really the best idea. However, once he realized that she wasn't going to be convinced that giving her child up for adoption or terminating the pregnancy was a good idea, he seemed to be supportive enough.

There was a few things he wasn't willing to do; however, that the young illustrator should have seen as a red flag from a mile away. What type of man wouldn't marry his pregnant girlfriend, or even tell his fans about their relationship? However, she was convinced that none of those really mattered in the long run, all that mattered was that they were happy together and they'd be even happier when their little baby boy finally entered the world.

Instead of growing closer and happier once Sun Woo was born, they grew further apart. Their storybook romance was clouded by arguments and avoiding each other. Hyun Bin had only supported Jinah's decision to have the baby because he wanted to be with her and once she had her mind made up about something, there wasn't much you could do to change it. But he didn't actually want to be a father, and he didn't want to do most of the things that came with the title of "Dad." So he spent less time at home and more time "working" or hanging out with his friends.

All of this time away from the house obviously didn't sit too well with Jinah, who was left at home with their growing child. But she put up with it and hoped that he would come around eventually. However, when Hyun Bin told her that she was going to be doing a tour and some promotions in America, she was already weary. When he couldn't even tell her when he would be coming back home, she started to get worried. Still, she knew how much his music meant to him, and didn't want to hold him back. It wasn't until she saw his social media and fancafe posts confirming that he was in a relationship with one of his close lady friends that she knew it was really over between them.

The now single Jinah was faced with a fairly tough dilemma. She'd been working as an illustrator for a small company that made children's books for a while. She loved it, but the pay wasn't that great, and it was mostly depending on how many books she could illustrate(which was hard to do when she had to deal with a rowdy toddler vying for her attention every time she tried to sit down and work.) Eventually she decided that she just wasn't getting enough from the commission and small amount of royalties she got, so she started teaching art classes as well.

As much as she liked teaching other kids(and sometimes adults) her passion, her favorite pupil has always been Sun Woo, who often only needed some finger paints (or some crayons/colored pencils) and his imagination to keep him busy for hours. The only downside was that paper often wasn't on the list of necessities, since the walls and floor seemed to be his favorite canvas. Thankfully, as he got older, his art matured with him, and he started wanting actual canvases(or at least books of paper meant to hold whatever medium he decided to cover them in) it cost more, but it saved Jinah a lot of time trying to scrub his latest "masterpiece" off of the hallway.

In general, the mother and son duo always had a really good relationship. Yeah, she'd get tired of his endless amounts of energy sometimes, and he could be downright infuriating on a bad day, but she wouldn't trade him for the world. He had his fair share of times when he thought that she was being completely unreasonable or the most embarrassing mom ever, but mostly he adopted the phrase "momma's boy" with pride because, yeah, he loved his mom a whole freaking lot and there wasn't anything wrong with that.

It wasn't altogether uncommon for the young boy to show his love and gratitude towards his mother by giving her random little gifts. Usually it was simple things, cheap little bracelets and necklaces that he bought or found on the way home from school, flowers that he picked off the side of the road or out of his neighbor's gardens, things like that. However, on special occasions, he usually at least tried to surprise her with something fairly nice. His biggest one started when they made a rare day trip to Seorae Village and a stunning necklace caught his mother's eye from the window of a jewelry shop. She fell in love with it instantly and Sun Woo could easily tell how much she wanted it, until she saw the price tag.

The way her face completely fell once she realized that the gorgeous necklace that she so desperately wanted would take out a far too large chunk out of her already tight budget stuck with Sunny on the entire ride back home. As he sat in his room that night he thought of a plan. He received a small allowance every week, and while it would take him a long time, he knew that if he saved all of it for long enough, he'd be able to buy it for her.

Using the excuse that he wanted this really cool(but really expensive) bike that some of the more well-off kids in his grade had been riding around on lately, he refrained from spending any of his money for about two years, until he was eventually able to slip away one Christmas Eve and go back to the jewelry store. He was so happy when the lady brought the necklace out from the back(they'd stopped selling that particular one, but thankfully they still had one hanging around) and he was able to buy it.

Now, Sun Woo wasn't exactly unfamiliar with the concept of bullying, but when he stopped outside of the shop to admire his purchase and a small group of boys came up to him speaking words he didn't understand, he didn't know what to expect at all. All he knew was that they were snickering at him, and then one of the bigger ones grabbed his necklace right out of it's box. He was quick enough to grab the other end of the chain, but it soon gave way due to the force that was put onto it, and the precious pendant was sent flying, eventually landing under one of the boy's feet as they made their escape.

He was devastated, all that time and money was lost, and his mom would never get to wear her necklace. All he could do was gather the pieces up and sit on the front step of the shop before the tears started coming. As much as he tried to, Sunny was never that great at hiding how sensitive he got at times, and this was definitely one of those times that the little amount of control over his emotions he had just didn't cut it. Most people just kept walking, occasionally sending concerned, or even judgmental looks his way. However one girl, who he still swears to this day looked exactly like he'd imagine an angel would look if they didn't have wings, took a seat beside him and listened to him blabber on about the foreign boys and the broken necklace.

When he finished his tale, she didn't tell him that it was a stupid thing to cry over, or that he needed to man up and get over it. Instead, she, this angel that he'd never spoken to before that encounter, just held him as a fresh wave of emotion came pouring out of him, and she eventually did something that he doubted he'd ever be able to forget. The new necklace that was placed into his hands was simpler, and a little smaller, but it was just as pretty in his opinion. He wasn't exactly sure of what he, a twelve year-old who'd just spent all of the money to his name on what was now little more than really expensive trash, could have done to make it up to her, but he was hardly given the chance since she merely informed him that he should wish his mom a merry Christmas from her, placed a kiss on his cheek, and left his life as quickly as she entered it.

Even though it happened nearly a full decade ago, he never quite forgot about that angelic little girl in the white dress, or how happy she helped make a woman that she'd never even met. They'd only spoken for a little bit, but she still managed to sneak into his mind and take up a permanent residence. He found himself doodling images of a girl in a white dress far too often. Eventually, he even made her the subject of his entry for a pretty prestigious art competition. He'd never been very happy with the painting. No matter how many times he tried, how many canvases he ruined, he couldn't get it to look the way he wanted it to. The main problem he found was getting her face right. He could imagine it clear as day, but whenever he tried to transfer that to the canvas, it just never worked the way he wanted it to. With the deadline for the competition quickly approaching, he eventually gave up and just submitted what he had. If he was being honest, he thought that the faceless painting looked ridiculous, but it seemed like a lot of people liked it. In fact, it's still one of his more popular paintings today.

It went without saying that Sunny was pretty used to it just being him and his mom around the house. His dad had left when he was still pretty young, and, apart from occasionally seeing him on the news or hearing one of his songs played on the radio or in certain stores, they haven't heard from him since. So they'd gotten used to the tiny little family they had, and Sun Woo had even grown to like it this way. Of course, his mom dated sometimes, and sometimes she'd bring the guys she dated home, but it was never as often as it was with Sung-Min. At first it was just every once in a while, but it quickly started becoming more and more often. If he wasn't over at their house, they were over at his. Honestly, Sunny shouldn't even have been that surprised when he heard that they were getting married. He should have seen it coming, but that didn't stop him from getting the shock of his life when it actually happened. The 15 year old's entire world was turned upside down. He had to change houses, neighborhoods, and even schools. Plus not only did he have a new "dad", he also had two new step-siblings that he now had to live with.

The biggest surprise was just how different Jinah and Sung-Min seemed to be. Jinah's sweat pants, messy bun, and warm smiles just didn't seem like they could ever be compatible with Sung-Min's tailored suits, almost military-grade hair, and cool expressions. But their appearances weren't the only things that were different about them. Jinah was an artist at heart while Sung-Min was a Lawyer. Jinah's parenting technique involved being a friend first and a mom second, while Sung-Min often acted more like he was running a business instead of taking care of a family.

However, he didn't dislike Sung-Min. They had a tendency to not see eye-to-eye when it came to most matters, but he never really disliked him. Still, he won't tell you that this new family wasn't at least part of the short lived "rebellious phase" he went through at the time. It mostly just involved him sitting in his room drawing random things with music blaring through his headphones at levels that surprisingly didn't permanently damage his ear-drums, but it manifested itself in more in-your-face ways as well. He partied, drank, dabbled with drugs a tiny bit(although it mostly wasn't anything harder than weed). He also got really into graffiti for a little bit, but that stopped pretty quickly when he avoided getting a criminal record for it by the hair on his neck one time(always make friends with cops, kid, you never know when it might pay off), and he started his small(but still growing) collection of tattoos.

High school wasn't that bad, but he also couldn't tell you how happy he was for it to be over with. College was so much better. He can still see the expression on his step-father's face when he told him that he wanted to go to art school, and he didn't need a "back up plan." The last thing he wanted to do was be a lawyer or something, so why should he waste four to eight years of his life studying to be just that? With his mom on his side, he got into an art school in Seoul, and got his step-father to pay for most of it too.

Recently graduated, he's back in Busan again. He loved Seoul, but Busan was home. He's now living in a nice loft in the Haeundae Tower with a couple of his best friends. He's still trying to get his name out there and get established as a painter, but he's mostly just doing a few commissions and freelance work here and there for now. So, he's picked up a barista job at a local cafe because dreams don't always pay the bills, even if his mom(and some of his friends' parents) are helping with that.

III

THE SHIPS

tldr for the story: Sunny is the child of two artists, but his dad never particularly wanted children so he took off when Sun Woo was still a little boy. He lived with his mom until she got remarried when he was fifteen, then he moved in with his step-father and two step siblings. He got his passion for visual art from his mom(his father was a musician while his mother was an illustrator and art teacher) and can't really think of anything else he'd want to be doing with his life. He just graduated college earlier this year and now he's living in a loft with some of his friends who will be requested soon-ish. He's a good guy that follows the rules for the most part, but he also likes to have fun and generally won't say no to a good party. He's adventurous, out going, confident, spontaneous, and really just wants to live his life to the fullest and have other people see the art that he makes.
BESTIES: Okay he definitely needs some of these? I feel like he'd get along best with other artsy people, but he's open to giving pretty much anyone a shot. He's also the type of person that has a plan about -5% of the time and if you guys are really good friends he'll definitely just show up at your place because he wants to hang out, or he'll call you up at 3AM because he's craving the chicken at this one specific place in seoul and he doesn't want to make the trip alone or something. Also just so you know, you should be prepared to get paintings or sketches for like 70% of the presents you get from him(with like 25% of the remaining presents just being really random things he found in stores or garage sales and got because it reminded him of you. the last 5% would be stuff you actually wanted.)
overall though i could see him being a pretty good friend? he probably has a habit of teasing his friends good-naturedly(although he'd do his best to stay away from subjects that he knows they're sensitive about) and about half of his snapchat story on any given day is unflattering pictures of whoever he hung out with(also don't give him your phone bc you'll have about 100 selfies of him on it in about 10 seconds and they'd all be amazing blackmail material if he didn't take them himself and if everyone else he knew didn't also have pictures of him that looked like that on their phone.) but at the end of the day he can be serious too? like if he picks up on the fact that its ~serious time~ it'll take him approximately .5 seconds to sober the hell up(unless he actually isn't sober then he'll apologize later) and start trying to figure out who/what he needs to be punching for making his friend feel bad.

BITCHES: okay so there's probably a pretty good percentage of people who think that he's the most annoying person on the face of the planet. he's not really the type of person who'd care that much about the people that don't like him? he'd probably just be like "ok cool w/e dude nice seeing you" and go get some food or something idk.

BABES: i kinda feel like he'd lowkey fall into the "hopeless romantic" category? like he just wants to find his prince or princess and live happily ever after ok is that too much to ask. but so far he's probably only had a couple of relationships that have lasted very long?

I feel like when he's in a relationship he kinda lowkey gets super clingy? like he's not going to be the type of person that basically says that the person he's dating can't have any other friends or anything, but he'd want to spend a lot of time with them and he's probably a pretty physically affectionate person already so that'd just kinda amplify when he's dating them? also i could see him doing a lot of like really spur of the moment really romantic gestures and trying to spoil whoever he's dating

the future is pretty much taken for him already but feel free to suggest some past/present things maybe?
